New Year Party Outfit Idea

Dress: Miss Selfridge / Lipstick*:Me Me Me Cosmetics / Shoes: Miss Selfridge / Bag: Ted Baker

This time of year when you go out you feel you need to be more festive. For a New Year party look I decided on a red playsuit, to be matched with black suede shoes that are glittery on the heel and platform. They are slightly festive without being in your face and I think they look quite classy together, I might be wrong.

So christmas has been and gone now and it was a blur of rushing to get all the food finished it time and at the same time more importantly. Always something goes cold before you get everything out. This year I have to say the best thing was getting Sherlock Cluedo, in 24 hours I have already played 11 games, winning 5 of those games which is pretty good going. Theres a reason its my favourite game.

Now boxing day too is almost up its time to get make to work again. Finishing off my dissertation really doesn't sound too enticing at the moment but it has to be done. Though at least today was shopping in the sales, the one day of the year I don't moan about being woken up early. I love a good sale.

Did you have a good christmas?

Winter Outfit Look

Jumper Dress: Next (last years)/ Boots: Red Kiss / Bag: Michael Kors (in different colour)/ Earrings*: T H Baker / Hat: Miss Selfridge

This year is nearly up and only just really got round to putting my outfits up on my blog, I'm one of those people that always thinks about something. I spend so longer thinking about things that I run out of room to do it.

Well on the 23rd of December, a whole 8 days before the end of the year, I have put an outfit up. Goals for next year is to try and upload at least one a week. This is my winter look as winter hasn't been cold at all really this year, definitely no snow to be had this year.

In case I don't post again before christmas, Happy Christmas, I hope you have a great christmas and see you again soon.

15-18 Blogmas

15th
So today was meant to be my photographing day and what happened...I forgot. Instead my day has been organising things and making my flat messier than it was before. So my evening is now planned. Tidying as I go home for christmas on thursday and when I come back up I want it to be nice and tidy, just seems that much more welcoming I think.

later
Well the tidying hasn't happened and I half did photos but still so many I haven't done. Oops.

18th
Well I am now home for christmas now, the tree still isn't up but hopefully will be this weekend. Honestly today has been so busy, I went out to get some of the food for christmas and some wrapping paper for presents.

Now I am just sitting on the sofa watching law and order, up to series 4 now. Am slowing getting there. I have wrapped most of the presents up now but am still to write any cards.

Christmas Ideas / my recent buys from Boots - Ted Baker Soap & Glory

So I might of gone spending a little bit the other day, so thought I would do a post on what I got, and they are great present ideas if you haven't got all yours yet. I am amazingly organised when it comes to presents I usually have things about a year in advance.

The only problem with this is I need a lot of room to store everything and I occasionally I can't remember where I leave them.

The first thing was the gorgeous green box with has these three things in, its Ted Baker by the way. Body lotion and body wash with a scrubby thing (don't know what they are called). I just love these colours and design so much. These smell so nice and thought they would look so pretty in my bathroom.

I've seen this lip balm for a while and just thought it looked so pretty and just could help myself.

This body mist from Ted Baker was amazing, click here for my review.

So this is the inside of the big soap and glory box. I feel so guilty buying this as I already have most of the products in this. So now thats inside..

The Scrub of your Life - I am currently using this at home along with the Orangasm body wash that Soap and Glory did last year. Whilst here at uni I'm using a body shop one. I do really like this scrub though I have found it does go down quite quickly and it isn't the best that soap and glory do either so pretty sure I will never buy this out of a set.

Deep Cleansing Milk - So I absolutely love this and already still have about three laying around. I have used this for years to get my make up off before cleansing my face, yes I know this cleanses your face too but I like using a separate cleanser. So I'm pretty happy that this is in the box this year. Just need to start using as they do last forever.

Clean on Me - a few years ago this was the only body wash I used. It is great and I did love it but then my aunt got me body shop body wash which just lasts forever and I loved so much. This pretty much got forgotten.

Righteous Butter Sunkissed Tint - So this is new or at least to me it is. Never seen this before. I've used Righteous Butter a lot, the normal one. But just isn't my favourite scented body butter they do, Breakfast smoothie is (think thats the name, am currently out). Excited to use this especially if I look nicely tanned.

Hand Food - this is the usual hand cream that I have had so many of, I prefer the Hand Dream one they do. I have far too many hand creams I just don't use them enough.

Heels Genuis - this is amazing I have used this for ages, because I do quite a bit of walking so my feet were quite rough. I've used this for well over a year and my feet are pretty softer now. I would recommend for anyone to go and take this.

Righteous Butter - I am actually currently using this at the moment so fine with getting another one. It is pretty good and was the first product I started to always get for soap & glory but in 2009ish when I started using their products.

Thick and Fast Mascara - I have used the normal black one of this mascara which I quite like but never this one so am excited to try.

Sexy MotherPucker Lip gloss- I have had a few of their lip glosses in the past and they are pretty good but I'm not a massive fan of lip gloss its too sticky for me.

So this is the end, this post if quite a bit longer than I thought it would be but seems like I decided to review the soap and glory box.

Hope to see you again tomorrow and any of these things would make a great present.

Weekly 5 Product Review

I'm quite excited about this week's review.

Soap & Glory Supercat Liquid Eyeliner - So I have had this eyeliner for quite a while, especially as I hardly ever use eyeliner but today I got bored so tried this again. The first time I tried this I didn't really like it, so I guess I have changed as obviously it hasn't. I love this, I usually absolutely hate liquid eyeliner but OMG this is so great. It looked really sleek and was so easy to apply. So much better than pencils. I think I have finally been converted to liquid eyeliner, just a few years behind everyone else.

Ted Baker - Body Mist
So this one is the pink one as you can tell by having eyes and all. They did a green one that I thought looked so pretty but I preferred the smell of this one. Dammit smell winning. Anyway it says its got soft floral notes of jasmine and neroli, whilst the base of patchouli, sandalwood and musk. No idea what that means but thats the smell, all I know it that it smells so nice. I'm not really a perfume person, I've only ever wanted one perfume (Ralph Lauren Romance) which has been the only one I've pretty much worn except the Victoria Secrets one that I've mentioned on this blog but my friend gave that to me. I guess thats made me think oh I can have different scents. Bad that it took this long for me to notice but oh well. Anyway I'm not a massive fan of overpowering perfume and so would rather use body mists instead. Also its a lot cheaper! This was £7 I think and you can get many cheaper than this as its Ted Baker, whilst perfumes are or mine is like £50.  Budget winning!

Liz Earle - Soothing Eye Lotion
Honestly love this, lately I have been spending most of my time on my computer and my eyes feel tired so often. I've been using this to sooth them and it works so well. After writing this I'm off to use it again. This is now an essential for me. Holidays, events, days out I will be using this.

Bioderma - Make-up Removing Micelle Solution
This I got last week for free with my birchbox, I would never go out to buy this but I used this today and it is great. Its really soft and gentle to the skin, I usually like using creamy solutions as I feel its gentler to my face but this has left my face feel quite nice and soft. I will definitely be using this up, it looks like it will last a while, but I'm not sure that I will buy this myself but I will let you know when I'm further through it.

Pixi - Shea Butter Lip Balm in Honey Nectar
I love this colour, it is a nude but the look on my lips against my skin just looks really nice. God Im bad at describing. It has a nice slight brown tint to it that looks nice against me when I'm all horrible and pale without a tan. Sad times. But it also feels so nourishing on. If this ever runs out I will be running to go get myself another one.

That's the end of this weeks one, though tomorrow I will be doing a review of The Balm Voyage Palette, I wanted to put it in a weekly review but as its a palette thought it would make this a bit too long.

I hope you have liked this post and hope to see you again tomorrow and please subscribe:)

T J Maxx T K Maxx beauty buys the Balm Too Faced

So the other day, thursday I think. I decided to go shopping in t k maxx. I was so hoping not to buy anything but they has the balm and too faced.

First thing I counted as an essential was this face powder, my current too faced powder foundation is almost out so I grabbed this as soon as I saw. Even more amazing was this is the colour of the liquid foundation I got from T K Maxx the other day, meaning this should be the right colour.

Too Faced Soul Mates in Carrie and Big
So this is just the prettiest thing ever, just look at the bronzer, it is gorgeous. This blusher and bronzer set is making me really excited to try out. The colours look perfect for my skin tone.

The Balm Nude-tude palette
So this palette has been on my radar for a while so I was so excited when I saw this. The nude colours / brown vary quite a bit which I really like, with many having a shimmery tone to it. Below are my four favourite.

Swatches left to right
Snobby, Stand-offish, Sultry, Seductive

The first two are quite light but shimmery

Daily Blog Diary Post Blogmas

(my drawing, incase you wondered)

So rather late on this month I have decided to do blogmas. Honestly these aren't going to be christmas themed or most of them aren't. I'm still at uni curled up in my bed under my duvet and blanket with my radiator on full. How can people survive in the north, for short amounts so time fine but honestly I miss the south, even the tubes when they are packed full. Someone grazes against your bum and you turn round just to find out its a mum trying to squeeze into the packed tube with her kids.

I can honestly say I am just not made for the north, its cold and rains even more than the south, which lets me honest still rains a hell of a lot. Today has consisted of my writing my blog post for today, then just eating poppets (toffee in chocolate incase you haven't heard of them) whilst finally catching up on the apprentice, the uk version don't think the new US one is out yet.

My life is average with nothing much of excitement going on. Relaxation has been my goal for the last two day, since handing in my draft dissertation (on the important of appropriation in art, incase you wanted to know, though I'm sure most will find this pretty boring).

The Apprentice is down to the final five know so next week will be exciting. Though after watching the american version the uk one just doesn't quite live up to it.

Honestly I feel pretty darn lazy today just sitting looking at what I need to tidy but not wanting to move even an inch. I even took my carton on apple juice to my bedside table so I can fill up my glass without moving. I am that lazy.

My day could be spent photographing things for my upcoming blogs but once again it would involve moving and the lightning is so bad today it isn't very light outside and my lamp has been on since about half ten this morning. It is light enough without it but feels late afternoon with it off.

Before I make this into a very lengthy post I will leave, don't know about you but I get bored if too much is written, anyway I will probably spend the rest of the day curled up doing some drawing whilst watching white collar, though sadly I'm now on season 4.

Enjoy your saturday

December Birchbox

So this months birchbox comes in an evening clutch bag. I love this bag. Its glittery but not overly. So now what's in the box or bag.
Left to right:

Roloxin - Lift Instant Skin Smoothing Masque
This mask says it diminishes pores, firms the skin and boosts radiance or up to 24 hours. So it sounds absolutely amazing. I will be trying this around christmas time most definitely.

Cite London - Mineral Love
This colour is so pretty, its a light pink with gold glitter in it.

Elemis - Pro-Collagen Marine Cream
This sounds really good, it is mainly for firming the skin, that I don't really need at the moment but I will still try it.

Benefit - Puff Off and They're Real Push Up Liner
I have samples of these two products already as am just obsessed with Benefit but you can never have to many. I love Puff Off and still unsure on the liner, not to great with liners. I only wear shimmery brown ones that look like eyeshadow. Which I guess defeats the point.

Model Co - Ultra Long Lating Lipstick in Kitty
The shade is quite a nice pale pink. It's not really my colour any more but still be nice to try, I go for nude or red nowadays.

Skin & Co - Sicilian Body Gel
A body gel that has quite a nice scent to it but not too strong as when they are too strong, don't know about you but I get put off quite a bit.

So that is this months box, I hope you like the sound of whats in it.

Christmas Birchbox From Selfridges

So Birchbox are doing another build a birch box at selfridges this month so I went and got one. It was a pretty good range that they did but I picked up a few things, a couple that I already have.

Left to Right the the two below.

Aromatherapy Associates - Revive Body Gel
It was a toss up between this and Laura Mercier Body Creme but this one won. It's meant to awaken your skin which I thought sounded pretty good, so decided to give it a go.

Seiche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
I already have this, think from October Birchbox but I absolutely love this top coat so thought why not pick it again. The others were all nail varnish colours and I already have so many (far too many if I'm honest).

Number 4 - Lumiere d'Hiver Super Comb Prep & Protect
I've had this sample before as well but I absolutely loved it so got this to keep for traveling. Its the perfect size and smells so good.

Elemis - Pro-Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream
I love Elemis for years, over 10 years ago I started to break out in spots so much. My mum got me Elemis Facial Cleanser and Toner, it worked so well. I used it for absolutely years. Since then I have moved on to try different things but I know if my face ever gets that bad again I can use them again.
Anyway back to this, I thought it would be good to try as I never tried any of their creams. And I do love a night cream.

Bioderma - Make Up Removing Micelle Solution
This was a bonus as I'm signed up to birch box and it looks pretty good. I don't actually take my make up before I cleanse my face anymore. I guess I just got lazy as I always used to take off my make up first feel like I need to get back to this.

This Works - Deep Pillow Spray
I love a good pillow spray and this is a great size to travel with. I sometimes find it help to get to sleep but a pillow mist works so well. I use Champneys one at the moment.

Lord & Berry - Silhouette Neutral Lip Liner
I actually already had every beauty product already but I thought I'd get another one of these as you can never have too many lip liners.

I hope you enjoyed this post. I will try and include these in weekly reviews at some point.

A little update

Just seen that I haven't posted in 8 whole days, I feel so bad. I have been so busy, I have finally handed in my first draft of my dissertation so hopefully I can start spending time on here again.

One thing I hate is when I'm really busy I don't have time to go on my own blog let alone go and see over peoples blogs. But for now at least I have some free time again so here I am.

Honestly haven't really got anything else to tell you, and my dissertation is pretty much all I've done unless you count my dying my hair tonight but its still drying so unsure how it has turned out. Still trying to get my hair to the perfect shade, despite not knowing exactly what shade I actually want.

I will be uploading at least one post tomorrow, I went and got a birch box at selfridges on tuesday so will be telling you what I got and I might of accidentally went spending in T K Maxx tonight after handing in my draft as a mini celebration to myself. Oops...

Well I shall see you tomorrow.

November Favourites

So this month has gone by so quickly and now its come to an end its time for a favourites.

I've tried to have a few things that haven't been in previous posts but sadly quite a few of my favourites have been things I've bought.

The Blanket is from Primark and is just so amazingly soft that I love it so much and am tempted to buy it in more colours.

The make up bag from Oliver Bonas, it can fit in so much that I bought both sizes. They are perfect for storing my day to ay make up and if I go abroad.

Dr Organic Dead Sea Mineral Mask I love this mask, I stopped using it for a while but have started using it once a week and it has really improved my face. I'm not a fan of mud masks but this mask works so well I overlook the mud part.

Next is Soap and Glory's One Heck of a Blot Primer, I have done a full review here but I love this primer for everyday and its price tag is pretty cheap.

The Candle for Primark is Winterberry, which scent I fell in love with last year and this year they made the candles look even cuter.

The Photoframe is from Paperchase and is just so gorgeous with its Rose Gold edges, I bought some to hold special photos in. The current drawing in it is not special just one of my drawings, not decided on photos yet.

I hope you liked this favourites, I tried to make it quite short as I have already done a full review for quite a few of these products already.

Magazine Freebies

So this month is a pretty good month for magazine freebies, these were the two I wanted the most though.

And today I finally found both of them, finally glamour clinque lipstick that I have been looking for all month (already got the mascara the other week) and Elle with Benefit's new mascara primer.

So today is a pretty good day and I am pretty happy with my freebies. Just hope next months are as good.

Weekly 5 Product Review

This weeks review is beauty based.

No 7 Naturally Sunkissed Body Lotion- I know that I talked about this when I got it but don't think I have since (sorry if I have) well I just love this lotion I'm about half way through it now. I wouldn't say that it makes me look tanned as such. This isn't a fake tan but has made me look sun kissed. This lotion is normally £10 with is rather pricey but my student budget (I had a five pound voucher, so got 50% off). I would buy this again but wouldnt be making this my everyday body lotion but will use it when I want that sun kissed look in winter. Side note the smell is pretty nice I wouldn't say it is really scented which is good some lotions smell too much for me, especially the ones you get to make you look tanned usually have a horrible smell you can't get rid of.

Bed Head Self Absorbed Shampoo - I bought this really recently so have only used a few times so far but I am just so impressed. The amount of shampoos that I have used that say they nourish your hair and don't is ridiculous. This shampoo has quite a strong orange smell to it which I am okay with as I love oranges, but even if you aren't that keen on the smell I would still try this shampoo, after using this my hair feels silky and not dry at all with is amazing because after bleaching it to blonde a couple of months back Ive tried so many things to get it back to normal and this works so much better than anything else I have tried. I got this in the sale at B&M for £4.99 which is ridiculous given how much they normally cost. It is save to say I will be going to B&M hoping they still have some left.

Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Mineral Hair Rescue Mask - I am about a third through this tub and it is great, especially after using the shampoo above. Softest hair has felt in ages. Unlike many hair mask this one only stays on for a minute which is much better. I have no idea how it works so well in such a little time but this I will be using at least once a week from now on. Would definitely say to go and buy this, the price is pretty cheap compared to other hair masks.

Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Primer - I really like this primer, I wasn't too sure when I bought it but I have loved everything I have bought for Soap & Glory pretty much. I would say that this primer is most like Laura Mercier's Foundation Primer, in terms of the texture, quite wet feel to it, it glides over your face smoothly leaving your skin soft. It keeps my make up on all day which is hard to find with oily skin. I love this primer but I wouldn't say its as good as Benefits but this is considerably cheaper and more affordable. I feel as though this will be my everyday primer and Benefits will be my special going out primer. But would definitely say to go and check out this primer if you are looking for a new one at a cheapish price.

Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Foundation - this is the second ever only item from Soap & Glory that I haven't loved. The foundation is a liquid to powder formula and this just doesn't agree with me. Usually I have a liquid foundation on with powder foundation over the top, that sets my foundation in really well.  This foundation was too powdery for me and felt myself seeing parts of my face looking streaky and powdery from the foundation, this is due to my oily skin. I need that liquid foundation as a base. I have been mixing this foundation in with my sephora foundation and it works perfectly well but on its own it just isn't for me. If you have an oily complexion I wouldn't get this foundation.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this post, I have noticed I've written quite a bit. Sorry if its too much reading for you.

What foundations have you been trying?

A few beauty products haul

A random short post on my latest beauty purchases.

I got Bed Head shampoo in B&M the other day as it was only 4.99 on the offer. I have wanted to try Bed Head for some time but usually find it too pricey.

Also this months glamour magazine as it comes with a clinque mini (I got the mascara, they were out of lipsticks).

Three Dove natural tan body lotion, I have tried my mum's but it was too dark for me, it was the medium to dark one. I'm just too pale so I thought I would try the fair to medium one hoping it wouldn't look orangey on me. I got three as were £1.99 each from Home Bargains.

I said it was a short. Sorry I'm spending so much time on my dissertation at the moment. (sad face).

Weekly Blog Diary

Monday 9th

What can I say about today, it was rainy today got a little wet, though honestly I do love the rain, I think it sounds so peaceful and calming. Though watching is better than being in it.

Except for the rain I went to a moving image workshop today and restarted a project I've been planning for a good year and a bit now. It will get done eventually, think I'm putting it off because it will be about two and a half hours (the video) so will take months and months if not longer to do.

Food shopping was also on my list, bought nothing of interest. List of items in case you are interested-
3x Jars of Tikka Masala
3x Apple Juice
2x ice lollies
1x Milk
1x pack of Aero chocolate Mouses
1x Terrys chocolate orange
8x paprika Mccoys crisps

told you it wasn't interesting but why not include it.

Then just TV pretty much, the new series of RHOA has started I am so happy about it, I have been obsessed with it for years now. Sheree is back too!! Cant wait especially as Sheree and Kenya already have got off on the wrong foot. But I will stop incase it bores you but I love it so much. But I know no one else who watches it.

The other thing I watched today was Lewis, I am finally up to date with it now. That brings me to now pretty much. Unless you also want to know that I wrote and posted my Benefit post today, that you probably already know as this will be published on Sunday.

Monday 16th

Oops so I guess my new idea of a weekly blog didn't go to well, only writing in one day of it.

To be fair not much actually happened during the week, I did so screen printing, then other than that I have started to watch Jersey Shore, never seen it before but love Geordie Shore so thought why not. It took a while to get into as they aren't as wild as Geordie Shore but I just love Snooki in it. I am onto the fourth season already...oops. I guess that tells you were most of my week has gone.

My dissertation has been pushed to the side a bit...just need a day where I have no distractions.

On Saturday though me and my friend decided to go to this shop that is only meant to be under half hour walk but somewhere I have never been before. Its on an industrial estate and don't really go to those as obviously most people don't. Anyway it was raining when we left the flat and the rain only got worse, we got a little lost and it took us little over an hour to get there. It was ridiculous have to get google maps up on our phones. I suppose it was worth it in the end but wasn't half a job getting there.

Well that was pretty much my week only a little late. I hope you all had a great week and I'll try and do better this week. Fingers crossed.

Primark Pyjama Haul

So the other day I went a little crazy on in the pyjama section.

Derek the sheep tops were in the sale so I might of bought the top and the jumper. They are just so cute.

Next to Derek top is this beautiful scarf , then the softest jumper I have seen in forever it is a massive baggy jumper. Which is perfect for me.

In the top if the beautiful dark grey blanket, it is so super soft. It was only £5 and unbelievable soft.

The Mickey Mouse Naught or Nice top is the best thing that I picked up, amazingly in was in the sale for £3 so I bought two, in different sizes.

The last thing I got from Primark was the dark blue shorts that are just so cute and go really well with my Mickey tops.

I did warn you I went overboard on Pyjamas but the fact they were all in the sale except the shorts does make me feel a bit better.

See you again soon.

Benefit's Christmas Gifts

So this year I managed to get Benefit's advent calendar, I was so happy as last year I thought I ordered it but the order didn't process. Was a very sad time, but now I have this years just always facing me when I am in my flat.

Sadly I can't afford all the christmas sets they are doing this year, one day maybe but can't see that being anytime soon. Right, to the gifts:)

(ps these are gifts to myself- sad I know)

On the right is the advent calendar, this years one is only 12 days, sad but on the plus sad it is a lot cheaper than last years. The miniatures inside are Porefessional, Badgal Lash, Lollitint, Ooh La Lift, They're Real, High Beam, Total Moisture Facial Cream, Ultra Plush - Hoola, Ultra Plush - Sugarbomb, Watts Up, They're Real Remover and Rockateur.  Thats a long list, also it has 12 days of christmas that it sings, a beauty version obviously.

Moving onto the tin, which I think I might use to keep the products I want to do reviews on, then pull them out so its a lucky dip of what I do everytime. These four products are inside, I already own them all...but my gimme brow was running low so thought why not get it in a set.

Along with the Gimme Brow is Hoola bronzer, They're Real Mascara and High Beam Highlighter.

Amazingly this was a freebie, I know it is shocking, its £19.50 to buy as they sell it as well. I am in love with how cute it looks, and have yet to use it. It has four neutral and brown shades eyeshadows in with stay don't stray eyelid primer and they're real mascara.

I hope you have liked this post, feels quite a short post. Please go ahead and follow me on any of my social media or even better all of them. :)

Though instagram is what I am glued to.

Cheerio:)
